Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
A part-time academic is required to teach section (01) Italian 3600 / Film 3320.03: Italian National Cinema – Winter Term 2026 (January 1, 2026 – April 30, 2026)

Currently Scheduled: T 1435-1725

The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including admission, lectures, test preparation, evaluation, and electronic submission of grades. Instructors are expected to maintain reliable and constant communication with the administration of the Department, to be available for two hours per week for consultation with students, and to have students fill out the evaluation questionnaire at the end of the course. This position reports to the Chair of the department.

Qualifications/Requirements of Position
The successful candidate will have preferably earned doctorate or be ABD (All But Dissertation) in Cinema and Media Studies or a related field; or in Italian Studies, or a related field. They will have a proven teaching record or potential for teaching excellence. Experience with teaching in an in-person and online environment, is preferred.
Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement

Applicants should have native or near-native fluency in English and Italian and possess a graduate degree in a relevant area. Good teaching skills, including grammar training, commitment to student learning, and strong sense of personal responsibility.
