Job Summary & Key Responsibilities

POSITION: Part-Time Academic for ENVS 2000.03, Urban Field School, for the Summer 2025 term (May 19, 2025 to May 30, 2025)

DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences, Halifax (Studley) Campus

WORK ASSIGNMENT: The instructor will be responsible for the delivery of the Summer 2025 course ENVS2000.03 (Urban Field School), which runs May 19, 2025 to May 30, 2025. The instructor will be responsible for preparing materials, leading fields trip within the HRM, holding office hours, evaluation of students and coordinating TAs. A detailed class description is available in the Department and in the Dalhousie Calendar (dal.ca).

Qualifications/Requirements of Position
Minimum of a Master’s degree in a discipline relevant to the course content (e.g. Environmental Sciences, Earth Sciences, Geography, etc). Expertise in the role of humans in ecosystems and how humans change ecosystem processes and functions within urban areas with focus on forests, soils, watersheds, parks and protected grounds, green infrastructure, and the built environment. Relevant teaching experience will be considered an asset.
Salary Range/Pay Rate In accordance with CUPE Agreement Local 3912
