Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:30 – 12:45 PM Academic Calendar Description: This is a special topics course on the sociology of sport. Qualifications: Only applicants who possess a PhD (or are ABD) in sociology will be considered. Applicants with a strong record of undergraduate teaching in sociology are preferred. Must have expertise in the sociology of knowledge and science. Remuneration: Remuneration is in accordance with the Collective Agreement between Saint Mary’s University and CUPE 3912 Qualified applicants who currently hold an appointment to teach in the Department of Sociology at Saint Mary’s University and who are deemed eligible to teach the course they are applying for must submit a short cover letter and CV. Applicants who do not currently hold a part-time teaching appointment in the Department of Sociology at Saint Mary’s University must submit a complete application (including a cover letter, CV, teaching dossier (including evidence of teaching effectiveness), and a relevant course syllabus. CUPE 3912 Job Posting for Part-time Teaching Position Course: ANTH 2326: Contemporary East Asia Department: Anthropology, Faculty of Arts, Saint Mary’s University Semester: Winter 2026 Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Academic Calendar Description: Students consider East Asia as a region with shared cultural and historical legacies, while examining the radically diverse contemporary conditions of each country. Qualifications: Applicants must posses at least an MA degree in Anthropology or related discipline with specialized knowledge of the subject matter of the course. In keeping with the Collective Agreement between Saint Mary’s University and CUPE, Local 3912, applicants will have precedence based on the number of credit courses they have previously taught at Saint Mary’s providing they meet the requirements stipulated in the job posting.
