Students survey aspects of Japanese culture in their historical and social contexts. Topics will be selected by the instructor and may include folklore, literature, language, and material culture. No previous study of Japan or the Japanese language is required. 

Qualifications:

Candidates should have graduate training in a related field (PhD preferred) and/or relevant teaching experience. Applications should include evidence of relevant teaching experience or indicate generally how the applicant might structure this course thematically, identifying examples of the kinds of reading assignments they would require, and a breakdown showing how they would determine final marks.

Duties:
