During the academic terms, supervisors visit placement sites a minimum of three times to observe and meet with students and their placement supervisors.In addition, supervisors respond to student inquiries between visits; provide students with guidance on placement requirements; provide students with feedback on practicum assignments; provide detailed feedback through mid-term and final evaluations. Compensation for travel is based on placement distance from the Mount and is within a 100km radius. Supervisory visits occur in person, except in the case of online student placements, which are supervised through ONLINE technologies and arranged individually. Since the Covid-19 pandemic began, some sites may prefer online visits as well. Supervisors should check with each site to determine their preference. Supervisors will work under the direction of the practicum coordinator for the Department of Child and Youth Study. Supervisors need to be considerate of the needs of the placement sites.
