Applications include the collection, examination, evaluation and interpretation of physical evidence within the judiciary process of criminal investigation. Scientific theories and principles underlying these applications are examined. 

Additional Details:  

The course is intended to draw on both the expertise of the instructor and that of selected outside content experts brought in to contribute, with the primary instructor coordinating, incorporating, and overseeing any outside expert contributions to the course and/or labs.  

Note: This course has an associated laboratory section, led by a course instructor, and that instructor position is posted separately. 

Qualifications:  

Preferred applicant will have experience lecturing and developing curricula or programming in the area of the Forensic Sciences. Applicants must possess a MSc or Ph.D. in a related field, and have at least five years of experience working in an area related to forensic science.  

Duties:  

Duties and responsibilities include laboratory preparation and lab instruction delivery; coordination of expert guest lab presenters as needed; preparation of lab assessment materials, including from modules led by guests; evaluation of all student lab assessments; and course-related student advising during office hours.  

Remuneration:  

Remuneration is in accordance with the Collective Agreement between Saint Mary’s University and CUPE 3912.
