Qualifications:
Candidates should have advanced proficiency in Mi’kmaw language.  They
should have demonstrated commitment to and satisfactory experience in the
teaching of Mi’kmaw language and culture, preferably at a university
level.  Development and sharing of Indigenous knowledge and languages,
along with lived experiences related to Indigenous knowledge, are
considered an asset.
Although this course is to be taught in person, knowledge and/or
experience with Distance Learning software such as Moodle and Collaborate
would be an asset.

Position Title Part-Time Academic (INDG 3050.03: Indigenous Research Methods – Fall Term 2025)

Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
Work Assignment:

The Part-Time Academic will be responsible for teaching INDG 3050.03: Indigenous Research Methods, an in-person class to be held on Tuesday/Thursday, 16:05 am- 17:25 pm (Fall Term 2025) at the Studley Campus of Dalhousie University.

The Part-Time Academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including preparing and delivering lectures, marking student assignments, development of course content on Brightspace, and submitting grades. In addition to course time, the instructor is required to hold two office hours per week for consultation with students. The instructor reports to the Indigenous Studies program Coordinator.

Qualifications/Requirements of Position
Applicants should have experience conducting insider community-based research with Indigenous peoples, be familiar with Indigenous research practices, and with Chapter 9 of the Tri-Council Policy Statement on Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (2018). Possession of TCPS2 or similar certification is an asset.
Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement
