Please note: all candidates must be willing to teach these courses remotely. Course delivery may be synchronous (i.e., during the set schedule) or asynchronous (i.e., outside the scheduled course time) but in any case, instructors must be willing to accommodate students’ schedules and time zones.
In order to be considered, candidates must have a completed (or nearly completed) Ph.D. in Political Science and /or equivalent teaching, or employment experience in relevant fields. Applications are invited in the first instance from part-time faculty on the University’s Precedence List. Applicants who do not currently hold a part-time teaching appointment at Saint Mary’s University should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, recent instructor course evaluations, and the names and contact information of two referees who can comment on the applicant’s teaching ability. peace and conflict studies and/or international relations. A demonstrated
commitment to, and satisfactory experience in teaching related courses at
the university level.
Candidates must also have experience using the Blackboard/Collaborate
virtual classroom. Candidates must be willing to participate in additional
training in the optimum range of teaching operations in the Moodle LMS and
in the Collaborate virtual classroom, if necessary, to reach the required
level of competency before the course begins. Candidates must also be
sensitive to the needs of distant, mature and part-time learners.
