Social Power Relations

Academic Calendar Description:

Students are introduced to social justice perspectives on social inequality, power relations, and resistance. Students examine theoretical concepts of power relations and topics that challenge dominant notions about society. The biases and assumptions that inform the study of power relations across gender, race, class, sexuality, Indigeneity, ability and citizenship are also considered.

Qualifications:

Preferred applicant will have a PhD in a relevant field or be near completion (minimally they will hold a Master’s Degree) and have recent experience teaching at the university level, and a thorough knowledge of, intersectional experiences and analyses of power relations. Candidates with publications and/or demonstrated research in the field of intersectional social power relations will be preferred. The Department is committed to equity and diversity as essential to academic excellence, and lived experience at the intersections of racialization, colonization, Indigeneity will be considered an asset.

Duties:
